QiDZ is Now theQapp: Celebrating a New Era of Family Entertainment

What began as QiDZ ? a trusted companion helping parents find fun activities for their children?has grown into something bigger. As families evolve, so do we. Today, that same spark lives on?brighter, bolder, and broader?as theQapp. theQapp brings every chapter of family life together: from playdates to parties, after-school adventures to weekend getaways, local discoveries to travel dreams. Wherever life takes your family, we make it simpler to plan and easier to enjoy. Our rebrand honors where we started while embracing what?s next. ?Q? stands for quality experiences, quick access, and the questions parents ask every day. It?s a nod to our roots?and a promise that our heart remains the same. With theQapp, we?re not just curating activities; we?re championing the family journey. One app. One community. One mission: to make life simpler and memories richer. A Night to Remember at Culture House The relaunch event, held at Culture House, was an evening of inspiration, creativity, and celebration. From engaging activations to thought-provoking discussions, our guests experienced firsthand the new world of entertainment theQapp brings. The evening began with a warm welcome from Claudia Ribas, Co-Founder and GM of theQapp Saudi Arabia, who opened the panel titled: ?Culture Meets Innovation: The New Era of Entertainment in Saudi Arabia.? Claudia highlighted how creativity, culture, and technology are redefining what it means to engage, inspire, and connect audiences across the Kingdom. She reminded everyone that the future of entertainment is about blending tradition with innovation?and that collaboration across sectors is key to turning Vision 2030 into reality. Panel Highlights We were honored to host four remarkable voices shaping the Saudi entertainment landscape: Jamil Malek, GM at Baan Holding ? Sharing insights on how large-scale entertainment ventures are transforming leisure and tourism in the Kingdom, emphasizing the balance between global innovation and Saudi authenticity. Loubna Ahmed-Haque, Founder of Riyadh Writers Community ? Discussing the power of storytelling and creative communities in shaping the entertainment ecosystem. Saleh Al Ghamdi, Co-Founder of Ghanem ? Highlighting investment opportunities in entertainment and building a sustainable creative economy. Simona Agolini, Co-Founder and CEO of theQapp ? Showcasing how digital transformation is making entertainment easier to discover, more personalized, and accessible for everyone. The discussion explored the intersection of creativity, culture, and technology, concluding that: Collaboration drives change ? creative minds, investors, and innovators together shape Saudi entertainment. Tradition meets innovation ? Saudi authenticity combined with modern digital experiences is the industry?s strength. People at the center ? technology and creativity matter most when connecting people through stories and experiences. Creativity in Motion Guests were also mesmerized by a live sand art performance ? a stunning visual reminder that storytelling comes in many forms. Through graceful movements and shifting grains of sand, the artist brought to life the story of QiDZ?s journey into theQapp ? from its beginnings as a family discovery platform to its transformation into a world of limitless experiences. It was a beautiful expression of how creativity and innovation come together to shape new stories, making entertainment truly immersive, magical, and inspiring. A New Chapter: theQapp At QiDZ, making entertainment meaningful and accessible has always been our purpose. Today, that journey takes a bold step forward. We?re proud to introduce theQapp?born from QiDZ, built for the future. With one app, families can effortlessly discover activities, plan outings, and create memories?because entertainment should be easy, meaningful, and connected. We thank our speakers, partners, communities, and everyone who joined us to celebrate this milestone. Together, we?re shaping the future of family entertainment in Saudi Arabia and the GCC?and this is just the beginning. Welcome to the new Q era. Welcome to theQapp. by Amar

Back-to-School with Lama: How Lunchboxes Shape Your Child’s Energy & Behaviour

Published: Aug 28, 2025 By Kamar Baroudi Back-to-school season is here—and with it comes the daily challenge of packing lunchboxes. But did you know that what goes inside your child’s lunchbox can actually shape their energy, behavior, and school performance? To help parents make lunchbox prep easier (and healthier), QiDZ sat down with Licensed Clinical Dietitian Lama (@SahhaWithLama) to chat about how food fuels focus, mood, and learning—and to share some quick, fun ideas you can start using today. Why Lunchboxes Matter More Than You Think QiDZ: Lama, why do you think lunchboxes matter so much for kids during school? Lama: “Parents, I know mornings can be hectic, and packing a lunchbox feels like just another task—but every bite you put in there is a little hug from home. Food fuels the brain, not just the body. A balanced lunchbox helps kids stay focused, reduces crankiness, and keeps their energy steady throughout the school day.” A Simple Change That Improves Behavior QiDZ: What’s one small change parents can make that really impacts behavior? Lama: “Swap the sugary drinks for water or fruit-infused water. Kids who sip smart stay hydrated, concentrate better, and avoid the sugar crashes that can lead to irritability and lack of focus. Even a fun bottle or straw can make water their favorite drink.” Lama’s Top Lunchbox Hacks Every Parent Can Try Think Smart, Not Strict – Aim for balance, not perfection. Pack the Rainbow – Bright fruits and veggies make kids excited to eat. Protein Power Up – Eggs, cheese cubes, or chickpeas help steady energy. Kid Helpers – Let your child pick one item—they’ll be proud to eat it. Shape & Shine – Cut veggies into stars, hearts, or sticks. Fun bites get eaten first! Kid-Approved Lunchbox Recipes Choconut Energy Balls – Nut butter, oats, honey, and cocoa rolled into bite-sized bliss for long-lasting energy. Crunch & Dip Veggie Cups – Carrots, cucumbers, and peppers with hummus or Greek yogurt dip. Sweet & Cheesy Kabobs – Watermelon cubes with cheese on skewers—hydrating, fun, and perfect for little hands. Food Shapes Mood, Too QiDZ: How can parents think of food beyond just nutrition? Lama: “Food affects emotions and behavior too. A balanced meal helps kids focus in class, feel calmer, and even improves memory. On the flip side, too much sugar or processed snacks can make them hyper at first, then tired and cranky. Think of the lunchbox as fuel for both body and mind.” After-School Balance: Nutrition + Activity QiDZ: Is my child’s after-school activity as important as their nutrition for keeping them healthy and balanced? Lama: “Absolutely! After-school activity and nutrition work together like fuel and engine. Without one, the system can’t function optimally.” Here’s why: Physical Health – Running, jumping, and playing strengthen muscles, bones, and heart. Mental Reset – Active play reduces stress, improves mood, and helps kids switch off from school mode. Better Sleep & Concentration – Kids who move more sleep better and focus more. Nutrition as Fuel – Balanced snacks and meals power both body and brain. Lama’s Tip: Aim for at least 60 minutes of active play after school paired with a nutritious snack. Looking for ideas?
